GPS Camera ("the app") is developed by Sigarda. In short: your photos and their data stay on your device.
Data the app processes
- Camera — to take photos. Photos are saved in the app's storage and, if enabled, in the "GPS Camera" album of your device gallery.
- Location (only while the app is in use) — to stamp coordinates, address, map and weather on photos and to write the EXIF geotag. The app never accesses location in the background.
- Photos you pick — only images you choose yourself (stamping an old photo, your logo, or verifying a photo).
Third-party services
To show the address, map and weather, the app sends location coordinates over HTTPS to:
- Your device's built-in geocoder (Google on Android) — to turn coordinates into an address and to search addresses;
- OpenFreeMap (tiles.openfreemap.org) — vector map data around your location;
- MET Norway (api.met.no) — current weather (coordinates rounded to 4 decimals).
Each service is governed by its own privacy policy. Map, address and weather can be turned off in the stamp studio, or you can use a manual location.
Advertising
The app shows ads from Google AdMob: banners on browsing screens (Gallery, photo viewer, Journeys, Achievements, Verify, template gallery, stamp studio, Settings), occasional full-screen ads at natural breaks (after exporting a report or story, finishing in the stamp studio, or after browsing photos), and optional rewarded videos that unlock PRO templates for 24 hours. Ads are never shown on the camera screen and are never printed on your photos.
To serve and measure ads, Google may process your device's advertising ID, IP address (approximate location), device information and ad interactions — see https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Your photos, the printed GPS coordinates and the stamp contents are not sent to AdMob.
Users in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent first and can change it any time in Settings → Ad privacy. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your device's Google settings.
What we do not do
We have no accounts, no analytics of our own and no servers that receive your photos. We do not sell your data. Apart from the AdMob ads described above, there is no tracking.
Sharing
Photos, cards, videos and reports are shared only when you tap Share, through the app you choose.
Retention and deletion
Data lives on your device until you delete it. Delete photos in the app's Gallery; uninstalling the app removes all app storage (copies in your device gallery stay until you delete them). See https://dl.sigarda.dev/gpscamera/delete-data.html.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their personal data.
Security
Network requests use HTTPS. Verification codes are signed on the device so that edits can be detected.
Changes
We may update this policy; the effective date at the top will change. Significant changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
